Mexico 2009
Before we can work, we have to get to Piedras. These are pics from our trip down, including our stay in San Antonio on July 4th and our trip into Mexico on Sunday.

On Monday, we arrive at the worksite for the first time and meet our family. When we arrive, there is only a foundation. When we leave at the end of the day, we have eight-foot walls!

Tuesday has been described as 'just like Monday, but five feet off the ground.' Today, we build up to the 11th course in the morning, and apply the SBC in the afternoon.

After two hard days of work, Wednesday is a good day to catch up on rest. We have one intense workday in the morning, then we use the afternoon to see more of the beautiful city of Piedras Negras.

On Thursday, we complete the house. It's a lot of work to cram into a few hours, which makes for a very intense and tiring day!

Friday is an emotional day each year. It's wonderful to see how much we've accomplished and to see what a difference it has made to our family... yet it's sad to know that we'll soon be leaving.

Church Events
In May, 18 KBC members and three guests (the Swaggertys) joined to form a team to run in Richmond's Race for the Cure. Besides having fun, the team raised more than $600 to help in the fight against breast cancer!

Mission Activities
Betty Marker traveled with other Virginia Baptists in March to teach VBS at the Precious Children's Orphanage in India.

On April 20, we held an open night at Acapulco's Restaurant in Kenbridge. The restaurant donated a portion of its proceeds to the Mexico trip. All together, the evening raised $550!
